Georgia Power Customers to See Slight Drop in Monthly Bills Starting This Summer
#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-💡 Georgians could soon see a little relief on their power bills.
State regulators have approved a new agreement with Georgia Power that will lower electricity costs starting next month. Officials say the average residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month could save about $4 per month — or roughly $50 a year. 📉
The plan is expected to save customers across the state a combined $285 million annually by reducing and spreading out fuel and storm recovery costs tied to natural gas, coal, and events like Hurricane Helene. ⚡🌪️
The move comes after multiple rate increases over the past four years, making the approved reduction an unexpected shift for many Georgia customers.
