Georgia Tax Revenue Falls Nearly 7% Following Gas Tax Suspension 

#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-⛽📉 Georgia’s tax revenue took a dip in June following the state’s temporary gas tax suspension.

State officials say Georgia collected $2.95 billion in tax revenue last month—nearly 7% less than June 2025, a decline of $215.1 million.

According to the Governor’s Office, the temporary suspension of the motor fuel excise tax, which was implemented to help offset higher gas prices, contributed to a 98.5% drop in motor fuel tax collections compared to the same period last year.

Despite the June decline, year-to-date state tax revenue remains slightly ahead of last year, increasing by 0.4%.
