Atlanta Opens Cooling Centers, Splash Pads & Hydration Stations as Heat Advisory Pushes Heat Index Above 100°
#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-🥵 Atlanta is turning up the heat safety efforts as dangerous temperatures move into the city.
With a Heat Advisory in effect and heat index values expected to reach 102°–108°, the City of Atlanta has opened a cooling center at Selena S. Butler Park (98 William Holmes Borders Sr. Dr. NE), offering bottled water and relief from the heat.
💧 Residents can also cool off at:
🏊 City pools
💦 Free splash pads
🚒 Hydration stations at Atlanta fire stations
⏰ The cooling center will operate Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice, except on July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours, and check on elderly neighbors, children, and pets. ☀️❤️
