Cobb County DOT crews are battling scorching temperatures and handling asphalt heated to 300–400 degrees while repairing roads and maintaining infrastructure. To keep workers safe, the county is providing water, electrolyte packets, cooling towels, sunscreen, air-conditioned trucks, and adjusting work schedules when the heat index climbs above 100 degrees.
