Major I-285 Closure Returns This Weekend In Southwest Atlanta

#wqeb973newz | ATLANTA, GA – Another major I-285 closure is coming to southwest Atlanta this weekend. 🚧

All lanes of I-285 will close in both directions at 7 p.m. Friday between Langford Parkway and Cascade Road. The roughly two-mile closure is scheduled to remain in place until 5 a.m. Monday.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes, including I-20 and the Downtown Connector. Officials say the closure is part of the Georgia Department of Transportation’s ongoing I-285 Westside rebuild.

The full interstate closures could happen up to 40 times over the next three years as construction continues.
