AT&T is offering rewards of up to $10,000 for information that helps authorities identify and prosecute people responsible for stealing copper from communication lines.

The company says its lines have been cut 444 times in Georgia so far this year, making the state the third worst in the country for copper theft. 📉

These thefts can disrupt phone and internet service for homes, businesses, hospitals, airports and other critical facilities. While thieves may be looking to sell copper for a quick profit, repairs can take crews hours to complete.
