Atlanta Residents Asked To Help Shape City’s Transportation Future

#WQEB973Newz | ATLANTA, GA-Atlanta transportation leaders are asking residents to help shape how people will get around the city over the next 10 to 15 years. 🚗🚲🚌

The Atlanta Department of Transportation has launched a series of community meetings for its Comprehensive Transportation Plan, giving residents a chance to share concerns and ideas about roads, sidewalks, lighting, bus stops, bike lanes, trails and other transportation projects.

City officials say Atlanta could add about 200,000 residents over the next 25 years, making transportation options and traffic safety a major focus of the plan.

ATLDOT said 55 people were killed in traffic crashes in Atlanta last year, with city leaders aiming to reach zero traffic deaths.

The planning phase is expected to continue through November 2027, with additional community meetings scheduled through Thanksgiving.
