Georgia Among States Affected By E. Coli Outbreak Linked To Recalled Raw Milk Cheese

#WQEB973Newz | ATLANTA, GA-Georgia is among the states affected by a multistate E. coli outbreak linked to recalled raw milk cheeses, with one case confirmed in the state. ⚠️🧀

Federal health officials say the outbreak involves E. coli O26:H11 and has been linked to Sierra Nevada Graziers grass-fed raw milk cheeses, including cheddar, jalapeño jack and Monterey jack varieties.

The recalled cheeses were sold nationwide in stores and online. Officials are urging consumers not to eat, sell or serve the affected products and to check refrigerators and freezers for any recalled cheese.

Nine people have been interviewed as part of the outbreak investigation, with all reporting that they ate the recalled cheese before becoming sick.

Anyone who consumed the recalled products and develops symptoms such as severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea or vomiting should contact a healthcare provider.
