QEB Foundation

Founded by Qn. Everlena Brown de Thiam, QEB Foundation promotes literacy in Education, Finance, and Technology.  Core program of the QEB Foundation, WQEB 97.3 is more than a radio station with a kitchen. We are a Community Alliance for Empowerment (CAFE), hence RADIO CAFE. A portion of proceeds benefit the homeless and at-risk youth. We provide funding for community projects like food, clothing, and shelter for the HOMELESS or mentoring through our RADIO STATION TRAINING IN ENTERTAINMENT and MEDIA program. Radio S.T.E.M. is a youth-led radio production that inspires teens, not only in the mass communications field, but traditional S.T.E.M.  Students gain leadership skills, critical thinking skills, communications skills, financial literacy, media literacy, community service hours and income!!!

We use the business of storytelling to be a Voice for the underserved and provide them with the vocational training necessary to speak for themselves. This is most evident with the launch of WQEB973.APP.

Our platform(s) give ordinary people access to food, content, and capital to transform their lives. “BreaKin Newz, BreaKin Artists”, our venture recognizes the pivotal role of music in addressing systemic issues like homelessness or food insecurity. We use the allure of arts and entertainment to foster a social network for social good… WQEB973.TV!

QUEEN EVERLENA BROWN DE THIAM (aka QN. EVERLENA or QEB) is best known as the media personality behind WQEB973.TV, formerly QEBVLOG.TV, produced by her media and entertainment production outfit WQEB 97.3 LLC. She just graduated with her Master of Arts in Organizational Management – Media after completing a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Communications from Ashford University (currently known as Arizona University Global Campus).

Former intern at Streetz94.5FM / OldSchool99.3FM, Queen started her media empire publishing a Newswire in 2003. Her brand served Ford Motor Company, Cadillac Invitational, Orlando Times, The Miami Herald, BWR, and more! A chance meeting with Akon landed her a job as Programs & Fundraising Chair for his charity, Konfidence Foundation. Having covered Robin Williams, Gloria Estefan, Chris Webber, Nas, Annalynne McCord, Montell Jordan and more…making the HOLLYWOOD OF THE SOUTH her new home was a no brainer. Within 2 years she became the  #1  Personality  at  WATB 1420AM,  wrote  for  J’Adore Magazine and  produced fashion segments for 411 “the show” on ION (WPXA) plus People TV. Most recently seen on CBS46… News gathering, story development, and reporting set the foundation for her journalistic prowess.

She also feels very strongly about the homeless and unemployed in metro Atlanta, having turned her own life around by continuing her education. As the entertainment industry grows in Georgia, she is dedicated to mentoring future young professionals to give it all they got, while giving back through QEB Foundation.

Coming full circle as an Artist, the emerging journalist & humanitarian is focused on storytelling through Music. This is most evident with the release of ALI UN and WQEB973.APP.

QUEEN’S CLAIM TO FAME

On Feb 3, 2011, KCAMP headlined a concert for DREAMin on Trinity Ave to benefit Make-A-Wish GA. He not only performed, but made the first DONATION to support QEB cause.

“While battling breast cancer, my stepmother told me to never stop dreaming. What better way to honor her memory than granting the wishes of children with similar conditions.” says QEB. She was first introduced to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in South Florida by celebrity photographer, Douglas Lance. QEB ends, “Our coverage attracted more supporters and media to their events. Thus, this was the first form of AWARENESS that I got involved in. Now, I want to do more!”

Former programs & fundraising chair for Akon’s Konfidence Foundation, after the event she immediately referred KCamp to Bu Thiam, Akon’s brother and newly appointed VP of A&R for Def Jam (Universal) at the time.  Later that year, JR, a protege of Bu Thiam begin managing KCamp. In the meantime, QEB continued to book interviews with KCamp for every radio station where she worked. Three years later KCamp was signed to Interscope (Universal). It pays to support a worthy cause, because you never know who might find you a worthy cause because of it.

“Entertainment is a tough business, and I really wanted to quit. But when I heard KCAMP got signed, I knew my small gestures didn’t go unnoticed. I had recently left Konfidence Foundation, but still texted Bu for 2 weeks to check out KCamp’s music. I never knew if my messages got through, until his mother, Shauna Hervey,  ended a phone conversation with me to talk to JR. I never told her what I had did, and it was a time where she wanted me to be more involved. But, I had to let go and let GOD if I wanted her son to truly succeed. When he got signed, I knew my faith and charitable work was not in vain. Instead of giving up, I officially launched a non-profit” – QEB
