A powerful round of storms is expected to move into Atlanta and across North Georgia tonight, bringing the threat of damaging winds, heavy rain, localized flooding, and possible brief tornadoes.

Forecasters have placed much of the region under a Level 2 of 5 severe weather risk, with the strongest storms expected from this evening through early Thursday morning.

🌧️ Rain totals could reach 1–2 inches, with isolated areas seeing 4+ inches, increasing flash flood concerns in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

⚠️ A Flood Watch is in effect late tonight through Thursday morning for parts of North and Central Georgia.
