Polk County 911 System Goes Offline Amid Phone Outage, Calls Rerouted to Bartow County

Officials say a telephone outage has temporarily taken Polk County’s 911 system offline, forcing all emergency calls to be rerouted through neighboring Bartow County.
Polk County E-911 announced the issue Sunday morning, telling residents that while they can still dial 911, their calls will currently be answered by Bartow County dispatchers as crews work to resolve the outage. ⚠️
At this time, there is no estimated timeline for when service will be fully restored.
