L.P. Miles Elementary School in southwest Atlanta is welcoming students back after an $11.8 million renovation! 🎉

The nearly 60-year-old building now features brighter classrooms, new technology, and flexible seating designed to create a better learning environment for students and teachers.

Students and staff celebrated the reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday after spending the previous school year at a temporary campus during construction.

The project was funded through the education sales tax approved in 2022 and comes as Atlanta Public Schools moves forward with its Forward 2040 plan to close or repurpose 16 schools while modernizing others.

📚 A fresh start for students, teachers, and the southwest Atlanta community!
