End of an Era: Barnes & Noble Cumberland Closing After Three Decades
#wqeb973newz | Cumberland,GA-📚💔 The final chapter is approaching for a longtime Cobb County landmark.
After nearly 30 years in business, the Barnes & Noble Cumberland store near Cumberland Mall will officially close its doors on August 19 due to an expiring lease.
The beloved bookstore, known for its distinctive architecture and community presence since 1996, announced that it is actively searching for a new location in the area.
Meanwhile, Cobb County property records show that RaceTrac purchased the property for $12.5 million and plans to redevelop the site with a new RaceTrac convenience store and a Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
While the bookstore’s future location remains uncertain, Barnes & Noble is continuing its metro Atlanta expansion with new stores planned in Edgewood and Toco Hills.
