Hurricane Isaias is moving toward the Gulf Coast, with landfall expected Friday night or early Saturday, according to the latest report from WSB-TV on October 9.
The Category 2 hurricane is packing maximum sustained winds near 100 mph, raising concerns about heavy rainfall, flooding, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes across parts of Georgia.

🌧️ North Georgia could see 2–4 inches of rain, with locally higher totals possible.
🌊 Southwestern Georgia faces an increased risk of flash flooding, urban flooding, and rising rivers.
🌪️ The risk of brief tornadoes could begin Friday evening in far southwestern Georgia and continue into Saturday across parts of the state.
📍 Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for Coweta, Heard, Meriwether, Pike, Troup, and Upson counties, according to the report.
Forecasters warn that the storm’s track could bring dangerous rain bands into Georgia, even as the hurricane moves inland to the west. Residents are encouraged to complete preparations, monitor official weather alerts, and stay informed as the forecast develops.
