Veteran Carries Woman to Safety During Dramatic Atlanta Flood Rescue

A Georgia military veteran is being praised after rescuing a woman trapped on top of her car during dangerous flooding on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. 🚨🌧️

Video captured the dramatic moment as floodwaters rapidly covered parts of Interstate 75/85 near Baker Street. Veteran George Brathwaite spotted the stranded woman while driving with his wife, Chyna, and immediately pulled over to help.

Brathwaite carefully walked through rushing floodwaters before carrying the woman to safety on his back. 💪🚗

“My heart and God… we both seen the girl on top of the car,” Chyna Brathwaite said after the rescue. ❤️

The woman safely made it to the couple’s truck while waiting for authorities to arrive. Brathwaite, who served in Iraq from 2009 to 2013, said helping someone in danger was an easy decision. 🇺🇸🫡
