The City Council unanimously approved Hicks for the role, making his appointment effective immediately after serving as interim city manager since November.

City leaders say Hicks brings more than 30 years of leadership experience, including his previous work as College Park’s Chief Information Officer, where he led major upgrades in cybersecurity, public safety cameras, cloud systems, and city technology.

Officials praised his leadership, vision, and commitment to long-term stability as the city looks to move forward after multiple leadership changes in recent years.

Hicks will now oversee the city’s daily operations and continue strategic initiatives focused on sustainable growth and community advancement.
