The fate of Weaver D’s Delicious Fine Foods is now official. The legendary restaurant, famously tied to R.E.M. and its “Automatic for the People” sign, will serve its final meals on Feb. 28 as owner Dexter Weaver retires after more than 40 years.

But there’s a twist: the beloved spot has already been purchased. The new owner, behind Baddie’s Burger House, says the goal is to keep the soul of the place alive — not turn it into parking or student housing.
