A judge has sentenced Edrick Faust to two life sentences plus 45 years in prison for the 2001 murder of Tara Baker, a 23-year-old first-year law student at the University of Georgia.
Baker was found dead inside her burned apartment in Athens just one day before her 24th birthday. The case remained unsolved for more than 20 years before a renewed investigation led to Faust’s arrest in 2024.
During sentencing, Baker’s family spoke about the lasting pain of her loss, calling the moment the “final chapter” while honoring a life remembered for its promise and light. 💔
