Metro Atlanta Students Protest ICE as School Districts Issue Guidance

#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-🏫📢 As protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) grow, some metro Atlanta high school students are making their voices heard through walkouts and demonstrations. The student-led actions have prompted school districts to issue guidance on what types of protest activity are allowed during the school day.

⚖️📚 District leaders say they want to support student expression while also maintaining safety, attendance, and an orderly learning environment. Gwinnett County Public Schools emphasized that student voices matter, but reminded families that leaving school grounds without permission is not allowed and could lead to consequences focused on accountability and learning.

🚸📝 Cobb County School District also cautioned students against disrupting school activities, noting concerns about outside groups encouraging rallies during instructional time. Officials say students are expected to remain in class while engaging in respectful, non-disruptive expression.
