MARTA Announces Phased Station Upgrades, New Faregates, and Breeze System Rollout Across Atlanta

The upgrades include new Breeze cards and tickets, updated faregates and validators, new ticket vending machines, and an improved mobile app designed to make commuting faster and more convenient.

🚧 Construction and faregate installations will occur in phases to limit disruptions, but riders may experience temporary station entrance closures, faregate shutdowns, and detours. MARTA encourages commuters to plan extra travel time, follow posted signage, and use emergency gates where necessary.

💳 Customers are also advised to start spending down their current Breeze card balances and continue using the existing Breeze mobile app until the transition period from March 28 to May 2. Balances will not carry over to the new system, so planning ahead is crucial.
