BREAKING NEWZ

Juniper Street Bike Lanes in Midtown Atlanta Still Closed as City Awaits Georgia Power Signals

#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-🚲 After years of planning and construction, Juniper Street in Midtown Atlanta has been redesigned with new bike lanes and pedestrian improvements — but the lanes are still not open. Despite completed markings and barriers, cyclists say barricades remain in place weeks after work wrapped up.

⚠️ According to Midtown Alliance, the delay is due to pending electrical work by Georgia Power to activate new traffic signals, which must be operational before the lanes can officially open for safety reasons.

🚗 Drivers and cyclists report mixed reactions to the new layout, with some noting traffic changes and others welcoming slower speeds and safer crossings. City partners say the corridor is designed to improve safety for everyone — once it’s fully online.
