Gov. Brian Kemp Proposes New Round of Georgia Tax Refunds

#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA-💰📢 Another round of tax refunds could be coming to Georgians.

Gov. Brian Kemp announced a proposal during his State of the State address for a new round of tax refund payments, totaling $1 billion, using Georgia’s budget surplus. If approved by lawmakers, it would mark the fourth time taxpayers have received direct refunds under his administration.

To qualify, taxpayers must have filed both 2024 and 2025 Georgia individual income tax returns, paid into the system, and not owe money to the state. Eligible refunds could be up to $250 for single filers, $375 for heads of household, and $500 for married couples filing jointly, depending on taxes paid.

The proposal still needs approval from the Georgia General Assembly as part of the state budget.
