A boil water advisory is in effect for parts of Demorest after an unexpected water main break disrupted service and lowered water pressure in several areas. City officials say crews are actively working on repairs, but residents and businesses in impacted neighborhoods should boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, hygiene, ice, baby formula, or pets.

The advisory will remain in place until water quality testing confirms it’s safe. Residents with questions are urged to contact the city directly.
