A large 36-inch water main break on Midway Road forced all City Schools of Decatur to close and prompted the relocation of students at three DeKalb County schools. NewsChopper 2 🚁 spotted a massive hole in the roadway, and officials say repairs have no set timeline.

Water pressure has since been restored 💦, but impacted residents are urged to run all faucets to clear any brown water. All after-school programs and athletics in Decatur are canceled ❌, and Chromebooks or take-home assignments have been provided to students 💻📚.

DeKalb County says students from Avondale Elementary, DeKalb School of the Arts, and Wadsworth Magnet were safely moved to alternate campuses 🚌, with meals and support provided.
