Georgia Generates $14.6B in Agriculture as New Report Shows Most U.S. Food Is Homegrown
#wqeb973newz | Atlanta,GA -🌾🇺🇸 As Americans get ready for Thanksgiving, a new Farm Flavor analysis shows just how much of our food comes from right here at home — revealing that less than 20% of U.S. food spending goes toward imports.
The report highlights the nation’s biggest agricultural hubs, and Georgia stands strong with $14.6 billion in agricultural sales, ranking 14th in the nation. Poultry and eggs remain the state’s top products, supported by more than 39,000 farms spread across a quarter of Georgia’s land. 🐓🥚
Nationally, grains and oilseeds dominate, while regional strengths vary — from poultry in the Southeast to produce and nuts out West.
A reminder this holiday season of the major role American farmers play in feeding the country. 🌽🚜
