Gwinnett County Proposes $2.6 Billion Budget Focused on Safety & Infrastructure

#wqeb973newz | Lawrenceville,GA -Gwinnett County leaders are mapping out one of the largest spending plans in metro Atlanta — a proposed $2.6 billion budget for 2026. 💰📊

Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson says the plan focuses on fiscal responsibility as the county navigates inflation and rising costs. The proposal includes $2.19B for operations and $409M for capital projects, backed in part by SPLOST funding.

Major investments include modernizing the 911 call system, finishing the new Community Resource Center on Grayson Highway, and continuing work on roads, water, and wastewater infrastructure across the county.

Residents will have a chance to weigh in during a Dec. 2 public hearing, with online feedback accepted through Dec. 31. Commissioners are set to vote on the budget Jan. 6. 📅🏛️
