Smyrna Announces Massive Downtown Transformation Featuring Homes, Hotel, Food Hall & Bike Path

#wqeb973newz | Smyrna,GA -🏙️✨ Smyrna is planning a major downtown transformation — one that could reshape the heart of the city for decades to come.

City leaders unveiled an ambitious redevelopment plan that would add 350 new homes, a boutique hotel, expanded mixed-use space, a small food hall, and a new bike/foot corridor called the “Jonquil Mile.”

The project centers on two large parcels recently purchased from Smyrna First Baptist Church, which will relocate in the next 2–3 years. The church’s historic chapel will be preserved as part of the new design.

Renderings show five-story mixed-use buildings, new parking decks, expanded sidewalks, and outdoor dining areas — all aimed at creating a more walkable, connected downtown. 🚶‍♂️🚲🌿

City officials say the plan is community-driven and will be refined as developers are brought in next year.
