Mayor Andre Dickens unveiled the Neighborhood Reinvestment Plan, aimed at tackling inequality and closing a shocking 20-year life expectancy gap between some Atlanta ZIP codes.
The $5B plan will use tax allocation districts (TADs) to fund:
🚇 $1.9B in transit expansion
🌳 $1.5B in trails & green space
🏘️ $1.3B for affordable housing
🏥 $170M for health centers, recreation & groceries
💼 $88M for small businesses
🚧 $81M for infrastructure
Seven focus neighborhoods will benefit: Thomasville Heights, English Ave/Vine City, Grove Park/Bankhead, West Hollowell, East Campbellton, West Campbellton & Downtown ATL.
