Death Investigation Underway After Driver Flees Traffic Stop, Crashes Near The Battery in Cobb County

Authorities say a traffic stop on Cobb Parkway near The Battery ended in tragedy Thursday afternoon. According to Georgia State Patrol, the driver fled from a stop for a tint violation, struck two pedestrians, and was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist. Officials urge drivers to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
