Cursive Comeback in Georgia
#wqeb973newz | Scottsdale, GA -✍️ Cursive Comeback in Georgia ✍️
What many thought was a lost art during the pandemic is making a big return. At Robert Shaw Traditional Theme School in DeKalb County, students are mastering cursive handwriting — even writing the entire Preamble to the U.S. Constitution in script. 🇺🇸
🏆 Their achievement earned the rare John Hancock Award, recognizing schools that excel in teaching cursive. Out of more than 300 applicants, Robert Shaw was just one of four to receive both the Banner and Ribbon of Distinction.
📚 Starting this year, Georgia requires all students in grades 3–5 to learn cursive, with hopes it will boost literacy, fluency, and critical thinking.
For these kids, cursive isn’t just handwriting — it’s a superpower. 💪🖊️
