“AJC to Print Its Last Newspaper in 2025, Ushering in a Digital-Only Era”
#wqeb973newz | Atlanta, GA -A historic shift in Atlanta media 📱 The Atlanta Journal-Constitution — Georgia’s largest newspaper since 1868 — will publish its last print edition on Dec. 31, 2025.
Editor-in-Chief Leroy Chapman says the decision isn’t just about cost-cutting: “This was not financial… This is about us being single-minded about two things. One, our future is digital. Two, serving this community.”
📊 The numbers tell the story:
- 115,000 paid subscribers today
- 75,000 are digital-only (up from 55,000 in 2023)
- On Election Day 2024 → 450,000 visited AJC.com vs. 24,000 print copies sold
Though ~40,000 readers still rely on print, the AJC will roll out a new ePaper edition accessible on phones and tablets.
The end of an era… and the start of a new chapter for Atlanta journalism. ✨
Would you miss the print newspaper, or do you already read all your news digitally? 👀
