Shooting Near Emory University & CDC HQ Leaves Suspect Dead, Sparks Safety Concerns

#wqeb973newz | Atlanta, GA – 📍 A deadly shooting near Emory University and just steps from the CDC headquarters has left the community on edge.

Police say the suspect, identified as Patrick Joseph White, died from a gunshot wound after the incident unfolded outside a CVS.

With Emory’s fall semester starting Aug. 27, students and locals are raising concerns about safety in the area.

“It was surreal just to hear that,” said Ruwel Sarmad, a dancer at a nearby studio. “I can’t imagine being in that situation.”
