Singer, director & multi-hyphenate icon @teyanataylor revealed she’ll be undergoing surgery after doctors found a noncancerous growth on her vocal cords.

“I’ve been quietly dealing with some vocal challenges… It honestly breaks my heart,” she shared on Instagram. The surgery means some appearances—like a convo with Michelle Obama—will be postponed.

But the music doesn’t stop. Her upcoming album Escape Room is still dropping August 22 as planned 🗝️🔥 Featuring 22 tracks, including skits by Issa Rae and Lala Anthony, it’s being called her most personal body of work yet.
