Fire Erupts at Conyers Mechanic Shop; No Injuries Reported, Cause Under Investigation

Firefighters battled a large blaze Thursday evening at a mechanic shop in Conyers.

The fire broke out around 5:14 p.m. in the mechanic bay of MHC Kenworth on Iris Drive. Crews arrived within minutes and worked to pull burning semi-trucks from the building using heavy-duty wreckers.

No injuries were reported. Officials are still investigating the cause. The Environmental Protection Division responded to monitor runoff due to rain.

The site is directly across from the BioLab facility, which suffered a major fire in 2024.
