#WQEB973newz Stock markets across Asia-Pacific and Europe fell Thursday and US markets were also set to open lower after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on trading partners around the world, with many Asian countries taking the biggest hits.

Trump’s broad-based tariffs have raised levies on Chinese imports, the second-largest source of US imports after Mexico, from 20% to 54%. Duties of 24% were slapped on Japan and 25% on South Korea: Both are major US trading partners and allies. Taiwan, a major exporting economy and electronics manufacturer, was hit with a 32% tariff.

The tariffs news sent US stocks plummeting in after-hours trading Wednesday and caused Asian markets to fall shortly after opening on Thursday.

A document obtained by Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne says, “Since sentencing, the Defendant has engaged in conduct that threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors, compromises ongoing legal proceedings, and warrants immediate revocation of probation.”

The motion says, “the integrity of this court, and the safety of those involved in this prosecution are at stake.”

Edwards can’t catch a “Break”

#WQEB973newz Brooklyn coach Jordi Fernandez took the blame for Minnesota star Anthony Edwards’ injury scare in the Nets’ 105-90 loss to the Timberwolves on Thursday night.

“I was out of bounds trying to move out of the way,” Fernandez said. “I definitely have to be faster than that. Players’ health is the most important thing in the game, so next time I just have to move faster.”

Edwards seemed to dodge a serious injury and finished with 28 points and five rebounds as the Timberwolves won their fourth straight game.

He briefly left the game after he stepped backward onto the foot of Fernandez while making a 3-pointer late in the second quarter. Edwards was helped off the court, but returned for the start of the second half.

The Timberwolves are part of a crowd trying to finish among the top six in the Western Conference and avoid the play-in tournament. They can’t afford to lose Edwards.

The three-time All-Star has carried the Timberwolves this season after they traded Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks in the offseason. Edwards was averaging a career-best 27.3 points before Thursday’s game.

Edwards Child Support “Paid In Full”

#WQEB973newz @theanthonyedwards_ ’ ex addressed what she called “lies” and “fake news” after rumors that the Minnesota Timberwolves star requested to pay more than $1 million upfront for 18 years of child support for their daughter, Aubri Summer Edwards, who was born last October, according to The Shade Room.

“There are no court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms,” Howard said Wednesday in a statement to the outlet.

Howard — whose Instagram bio says she is a CEO, brand ambassador and an artist — also addressed the situation in a since-expired video posted to her Instagram Story.
